Passive Misanthropy

No matter all the fools who chase
after trivial, transient gold,
And all those who with their troubles create
for their friends a garland of their woes,
Even those who their goodness stake
On a feeble, duplicitous hold,
Or those who leave in their wake
nothing but ashes of the soul,
The Strong stand in honor, Awake,
in conscience robed.
